I joined Fearless Athletics in
January 2013 after a long and disappointing time in conventional gyms. I found I wasn’t as strong as I looked and was riddled with immobility and injury prone tendencies. I began coaching in June 2014.
The word “Fearless” means
To me “Fearless” embodies an unbreakable will. Don’t let fear of failure or ridicule stop you from trying new things, doing what you love, or going the extra mile. When you’re Fearless, you’re unstoppable.
My favorite movement
The handstand walk. This combination of strength and skill is something I never thought I’d be able to do. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve fallen on my face before I could even take a couple of steps, but I didn’t let that stop me.
Favorite WOD or Type of WOD
Anything short and heavy. I’m built for power ( I think ) and I’d prefer heavy “Grace” any day over the longer endurance WODs.
My SMART Goal
Place 1st overall at Fearless Athletics for the 2017 CrossFit Games Worldwide Open. This will involve working endurance and capacity, rather than overall strength, which has not been a strong point for me.
Some people might not know that
I am a full time RN for University of Pennsylvania Hospital specializing in intensive care (ICU).
I love talking about how to combine proper nutrition with training goals. Come to my classes and let’s chat!
I use the word “gainz” whenever possible or applicable… sometimes even when it’s not.
I used to take acting classes in hopes of being in commercials.
