Inaugural Fearless Clean & Jerk (off): An In-House Olympic Weightlifting Meet

When: Saturday, October 28, 2017

Time: 1st Session Starts at 11:00 am (session times will vary throughout the day)

Where: Olde City Barbell Club, located at Fearless Athletics | CrossFit Penn’s Landing, 126 Race Street

Who: All members of Fearless Athletics!

What Else?: Afterwards, we will head to La Peg for a Fearless Afternoon Out. Can’t join us for the meet? Join us for a drink and a bite to eat!

The Inaugural Fearless Athletics Clean and Jerk (off) is Fearless Athletics’ 1st In-House Olympic Weightlifting Meet. This friendly competition features two divisions; Novice and Open. The Novice Division is best suited for athletes who have never participated in a weightlifting meet before. The Open Division is for athletes who have competed in a weightlifting meet or are consistently lifting and looking to measure their progress in a competitive setting.

How it Works

Athletes will have three attempts to complete a max Snatch and three attempts to complete a max Clean and Jerk. Awards will be given to the top two male and female athletes in each division based on the percentage of bodyweight lifted.

How to Prepare

Start by signing up on Zen Planner and regularly attend our LIFT classes at Olde City Barbell Club, located at CrossFit Penn’s Landing. Our current programming cycle in our LIFT class is designed to help you peak for this competition and see what you are capable of!

Stuff to Know

*This is not a sanctioned USAW meet

**Competitors are encouraged to wear Olympic Weightlifting shoes (and singlets, too!)

***All competition lifts will be executed in kilograms (don’t worry, we will help you with math)

****Sessions are expected to run 60 – 90 minutes, depending on the number of lifters per session. You should prepare to spend at least 2.5 hours with us on meet day (warm-ups & lifting)
